Westway Development Trust

Westway Development Trust Branding

Westway Development Trust was formed in the 1970s, to take on the challenge of regenerating and managing derelict land under the A40 flyover, which had sliced through North Kensington. In 2004 I was asked to rebrand the organisation and create design and marketing guidelines for all stakeholders within this diverse community. What was created was a strong but simple identity, reflecting the A40 flyover and hinting at the activities beneath.

A range of communication materials were created to promote the services and facilities on offer, ranging from a sports centre, riding stables, arts and culture spaces and property.

In 2102 the band Blur wrote and performed their ‘homage’ – ‘Under the Westway’ in a one-off concert beneath the flyover.
